Traces & Returns

2025 | December 3rd, 2025 - February 16th, 2026

Traces & Returns is a collective exhibition as a multi-vocal dialogue on the elasticity of memory. Bringing together the practices of Cécile Renoult, José Ignacio Mendizábal, Shazia Ahmad, and Pascale Jean, the artists' dialogues examine the tension between the inherited past and the reconstructed present.

Through diverse materiality and distinct visual languages, the artists investigate how place is not merely a geographic location, but a psychological landscape that is continually remade. The works serve as artifacts of a collective residency, capturing the ephemeral nature of presence and the tangible marks left behind by time.

Within this dialogue, Pascale Jean explores the intersection of domesticity and the subconscious. Utilizing a visual language of saturated color and playful figuration, Jean’s work moves beyond mere representation to illuminate the emotional environments we inhabit. Her practice, marked by a distinct sculptural experimentation, interrogates interpersonal dynamics by rendering them tangible. The works act as thresholds into psychological spaces that are simultaneously tender, humorous, and emotionally charged, inviting the viewer to reconcile the comfort of the familiar with the complexity of their internal experience.
