Soft Body, Hard Gaze functions as a visual inquiry into the friction between somatic vulnerability and the clinical detachment of the digital lens. Developed through a six-month cross-cultural dialogue between Montreal and London (ON), the exhibition investigates the intersection of corporeal softness and the rigid structures of sexualized objectification.

Through a synthesis of distinct material approaches, the artists move beyond the individual to the relational, examining how identity is negotiated within the hard gaze of the virtual era. Jean and Wimbrow’s works act as sites of resistance, reclaiming the autonomy of the body while inviting the viewer to reconcile their own embodied experience within the fluctuating boundaries of the material and the pixelated.
